Swap top

/ Sunday, 30 May 2010 /
I spent today piecing the top for the Modify Tradition swap. We're to make a small quilt with dimensions somewhere between 12" and 24" and send it off to a mystery partner. After poring over my partner's Flickr mosaic and reading the blurb, I saw that she likes bright colours and modern fabrics on white. I hope she likes this one - it's fairly mini, only 18" square.
MT swap - centre block
It was my intention to use a lighter colour for the HSTs around the outside, in order to emphasize the starburst quality of the blue/green pieces on the edge. However these gold/white HSTs look like saltines or matzah from a distance. Tarnation - that wasn't the look I was going for! Never mind, on balance I like it and it looks very summery. It reminds me of looking into a swimming pool.

We don't have a swimming pool, but we do have a bit of a garden - thanks entirely to the efforts of Mr. Pickledish.
Poppies will put them to sleep
Two of my favourites are now in bloom: poppies and lupins.

Love the quilt! It's gorgeous.
I adore Poppies...in any colour, though those pink are tied with the blue for favorites.

Smashing top, Lesly! It has such movement, the layers fairly dance. Like poppies!

Love the quilt!!! Gorgeous poppies, (read, where could I get some?) and drools for lupines. I long to be able to grow lupines, but alas, I am cursed to kill them.

Blessings,

KT

Love your swap quilt, I agree, it has a summer pool feel to it, which I like!

It wasn't until I saw your pictures of the poppies that it occurred to me that I've never seen poppies in person, up close and personal!! They look so delicate.

Great pictures, as always!
